Looking back on the last 4 years

Looking back on the last 4 years

Milk Teeth recently turned 4!! I can't actually remember the exact date but it was sometime around now haha Can you believe I have been running a biz for 4 years!! I've managed to survived a global pandemic in there too all the while juggling parenting! Sometimes you don't realise how much you have achieved until you look back. If you've been here a while you will know that I started MT with the last £50 in my bank account. I was having a tough old time being a single parent and this small biz didn't just earn me a little money, it pulled me out of a really dark time. I have a fashion degree, so that's my background and well I can use a sewing machine pretty well 😉 (normally as soon as someone finds out I can sew they ask me to take up a pair of trousers, I've even had a plumber asking me to take up his trousers once 😂) so I started making leggings for Oscar because he has was super active (still is) and they were the comfiest thing for him. I was asked if I would sell them and here we are 😁

It's been a slow growth for the business, but there is no such thing as an overnight success. I have said no to things purely to save my mental health and not to overstretch myself, because ultimately I have to be a mum first and that will always be my priority.

I get huge imposter syndrome quite often, and sometimes talk myself out of doing things purely because I'm worried if I can achieve something or if people will like it. It's something I'm still working on.

What stands out to me the most in the last 4 years is the friends I have made along the way, most of you virtual. There are people I talk to daily, who check up on me, reply to my stories and relish in my ridiculous parenting stories with me, that really makes my day. I don't think people realise what a difference everything MT has made to mine and my son's life. I am doing a job I love, that's flexible so I can do school pick up, while being able to support myself and my son financially. I couldn't really ask for more could I 😊

So a big thank you from me and Oscar for supporting my small biz. You're the best!
